Curriculum
We aim to offer a safe, supportive, vibrant and stimulating environment in which children can learn, explore and have fun together, with personalised learning built into the day allowing children to work in small, focused groups to cater for their specific needs.
We develop bespoke timetables for each student based on their needs. Most timetables will include numeracy, literacy, craft (fine motor skills), physical activities, sensory play, life and social skills.

Intent
At SEE Juniors, our intent is to provide a nurturing, inclusive and engaging alternative provision where every child feels safe, valued and able to succeed. We recognise that children learn in different ways and may have experienced barriers to learning within mainstream settings.
Our curriculum is designed to develop the key life skills of communication, resilience and cooperation. Enabling children to regulate and talk about their emotions, develop positive relationships and build confidence. Through a personalised approach, we support children to re-engage with education while developing the academic, social and practical skills needed for their future success.
We aim to provide a bespoke curriculum that promotes children's wellbeing and independence through literacy, numeracy, craft, physical activity, sensory learning, social development and life skills.
Implementation
Our curriculum recognises individual strengths, interests and needs. Learning experiences are carefully planned to provide opportunities for children to develop communication, resilience and cooperation.
Children participate in:
Literacy activities that develop communication, language comprehension, reading and writing skills.
Numeracy skills that build confidence in mathematical understanding and problem solving.
Craft activities that strengthen fine motor skills, creativity and concentration.
Physical activities that promote health, wellbeing, teamwork and self-confidence.
Sensory experiences that support regulation, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
Social skills sessions that develop positive relationships, empathy and effective communication.
Life skills learning that encourages independence, responsibility and preparation for daily life.
Our staff create positive, supportive relationships with pupils, using consistent routines and therapeutic approaches to help children feel secure, motivated and ready to learn.
Impact
The impact of our provision is seen in the improved attendance of engaged children who are better equipped to manage challenges, communicate effectively and work positively with others.
Children demonstrate:
Improved communication and interaction skills.
Greater resilience when facing new situations and challenges.
Enhanced ability to cooperate, share and build positive relationships.
Increased engagement in learning and improved attendance.
Development of literacy and numeracy skills appropriate to their individual starting points.
Improved emotional regulation and wellbeing.
Greater independence through the development of practical life skills.
Increased confidence, self-esteem and readiness for future educational opportunities.
By the time children leave SEE Juniors, they are more confident learners who have developed the skills, attitudes and behaviours needed to flourish both within education and in their wider lives.
